Communications in implementing the communications strategy at SES. S/He will be managing the
Communications resources across states (existing states + expansion) and the language of communication will be English and Hindi. S/He will be accountable for managing the daily operations of the Communications department
Areas of Responsibility
Grant Writing
- Grant writing for organization, including required grant reporting
- Collaborate with the Finance Manager and Program team members to assemble budget data
- Networking and funder research to identify new potential sources of funding from foundations and corporations
- Composing additional development communication (may include appeal letters, thank you letters, etc.)
- Support fundraising events (occasional weekends and evenings will be required)
- Manage social media channels as well as newsletters and press releases as needed
- Other duties as may be assigned by the Director of Philanthropy
Communications Strategy
- Execute the Communications strategy and manage SES’ brand image and positioning to strengthen relationship with all key stakeholders(including resource partners).
- Ensures consistency in all communications and develop and strengthen the organizations brand image across all channels
- Builds media relationships and ensure media coverage for all programme initiatives, establish partnerships with new stakeholders.
- Review the communication campaigns and donor relations at state level
- To conduct a brand audit / positioning exercise / perception study aimed at stakeholders from time to time
- Setting KRAs for the team s/he would lead
- Write, edit and proof-read press releases, newsletters, blogs and marketing material copy
Brand alignment
- Understand the brand and communications guidelines clearly.
- Educate State staff about communications guidelines etc.
- Maintain consistency across all branding and communication activities. Keep all violations under check align all media activities with agreed upon guidelines
- Social Media: Oversee engagement with Programme Team, Field Coordinators and community workers regarding information of programme.
- Manage content across all platforms, including email and social media.
- Track web analytics to ascertain content engagement levels.

- Keep current with emergent digital media behaviour, trends and technologies- both inside and outside the sector
- Provide guidance for new tool and technologies to be incorporated into the organization to increase their digital marketing presence

Public Relations
- Create avenues for spokesperson(s) to deliver the organization’s story and key messages.
- Look for opportunities where the organization can partner with State bodies for co-promotions. Maintain media relations with print, social and electronic media.
- Build SES as a sought-after opinion leader in civil society for State/National level media.
Newsletter
- Collation of programme reports and beneficiary stories
- Ensure the newsletter gets designed, printed and disseminated in time
Print and Production of Collateral
- Identify vendors who can give us competitive rates for quality products.
- Manage shipment of product across districts.
Administration and Co-ordination
- Keep a track of the communications budget.
- Attend manager’s meet when required.
- Represent the communications team on field when required.
- Take charge of translations of material in local language.
- Keep an inventory checklist.
- Liaise with (internal & external stakeholders)
Education Background
A bachelor’s degree in English ,Hindi, Journalism, Marketing or Communications or any field of social science
✓ Work Experience
Proven work experience as a Grant Writing/Communications manager, with the primary medium of communication being English and Hindi, minimum 3-5 years of experience in managerial role

Must possess a demonstrated use of intermediate computer operations (basic programming, relational databases and operating systems) and intermediate software packages (word processing, spreadsheets, graphics, Canava etc.
